Alfredo sauce is a creamy and cheesy sauce from Rome that is popular in many pasta dishes. It is easy to make at home with just a few ingredients and in a few minutes. Here's how to make Alfredo sauce from scratch.


ingredients:


- A quarter cup of butter

- 1 minced garlic clove

- 1 cup heavy cream

- 1 1/2 cups grated fresh Parmesan cheese

- Add salt and pepper to taste

A pinch of nutmeg optional

- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish


Steps:


1. In a large skillet over medium-low heat, melt the butter and cook the garlic for 1 minute, stirring frequently. Don't let the garlic brown or burn.

2. Whip the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.

3. Turn off the heat and add the Parmesan cheese a little at a time, whisking well after each addition until smooth and melted.

4. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg, if desired. Taste and adjust as needed.

5. Stir the sauce into your favorite cooked pasta and garnish with the parsley. Enjoy!
